Excellent KeyboardNovember 21, 2008 I received this keyboard yesterday. I read the included directions and synced the USB transmitter by pressing the recessed button followed by pressing the Control key on the keyboard within 15 seconds. There is zero issue using Windows built-in keyboard and mouse drivers. The keyboard sleeps after 10 minutes of no activity and pressing Enter twice wakes it up. The quality seems quite good; there is no delay with keyboard input or the track-pad. I purchased an inexpensive dual core PC, added a Nvidia All-In-Wonder video card with HDMI out, and connected it to my 50" 1080p flat screen. I spent quite a bit of time comparing/shopping for a wireless keyboard with a built-in track pad. This keyboard is excellent and I highly recommend it.
Absolutely 100% satisfied with this productNovember 3, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I don't usually review things but I think this keyboard really deserves it. I had been using a wired keyboard on my media center setup and decided to switch over to something wireless. This seemed like the best choice due to the all in one design and decent reviews on amazon. I read some reviews of other keyboards that had problems with range but the Adesso works from across the house with no issue what-so-ever. It's also very light but still well built.
I'm extremely satisfied and am now living the American dream -- browsing the internet and using my computer from the couch. Absolutely great keyboard to buy for a media center setup.
Works as advertised when using hi-capacity rechargeable batteriesOctober 28, 2008 After several calls to Adesso when product failed to function at all, invested in hi-capacity rechargeable batteries which resolved all issues. Customer service was responsive and helpful. Would buy their products when needed.
Excellent Keyboard for use with a flat screen TV as monitorOctober 3, 2008 I bought this beacuse I hooked one of my older PC towers to my 46" LCD flatscreen so I could surf the net from the couch. This keyboard if very precise and responsive from about 15 feet. It works great and is one of the only ones I could find that had a built in touchpad so that I could sit back and relax while easily navigating and typing into a web page.
Great solution and great product!
Easy to install, works greatSeptember 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was initially a bit hesitant to buy this because of the price, but I feel better about it now after finding it to be of good quality. Installation just took a few seconds since there are no drivers to install (I'm using XP Pro). Took me a minute to realize the caps lock was turned on by the computer, which meant the keys on the right side of the keyboard were acting as numbers instead of letters. Easily fixed (press blue keys Fn+NumLK).
Keyboard feel is like my Thinkpad, which is crisp, relatively quiet, and nice for typing. It's quite compact, maybe the width of the non-screen part of a 15" laptop, but smaller in the other two dimensions and quite lightweight.
One weird thing is that the touchpad will keep scrolling (or dragging) when you drag your finger and get to an edge of the pad. For example, if you double-tap-and-drag to drag a scroll bar downwards on a web page and your finger gets to the bottom of the pad, the pointer will just keep going until you lift your finger or move it away from the edge. This is separate from the functionality of the scroll area marked on the right side of the pad, and it doesn't do it if you use the button below the touchpad instead of the double-tap-and-drag technique. Now that I've figured out what it's doing, I'm getting used to it, but I still prefer a mouse or trackball to any touchpad.
I have not noticed any evidence of interference from the wifi network and 2.4GHz cordless phone that share the room.
Recommended.
