Just what you expect May 26, 2008 This wide angle conversion lens does just what you'd expect it to. Regarding a few of the reviews that say it doesn't add that much, maybe the operators didn't have the conversion settings switched properly in the Camera Menu. On a recent trip to the Southwest, the added area was very noticeable. Just sitting in my living room and aiming at the same point with and without the less gives a tangible result.
It's true that the lens does block the bottom portion of the flash, but knowing that, adjust your shot accordingly. Also, your zooming is limited with this lens attached, so don't expect to use the full 12x optical of the H5 without removing it.
I am very pleased with this lens.
not good for interiors February 28, 2008 I read a review of this product before buy it, about interiors photo using flash; that customer was correct, you`ll see a shadow on the floor(half an orange), this is the shadow of the lens.I think this problem can be solved attaching a flash that come out far from the camera, no matter up or side.My camera is a Sony Cybershot DSC-H2 6MP Digital Camera with 12x Optical Image Stabilization Zoom, great camera! In fact this lens is good, you`ll see a wider field but consider other than the built in flash for interiors, when flash is needed of course.
Good lens for wide angle shots January 18, 2008 I used it for over a month and it is great for wide angle shot I do recommend everybody how has Sony camera and into photograph to buy it, plus it is not expensive
Do not buy from ANTOnline November 28, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This lens simply gives a wider angle and most cannot tell much difference... However, If you are to purchase a wide angle lens get this one! As a side note, I would also reccommend to stay away from ANTOnline unless you want to take a risk in buying the product you plan to purchase, regardless of what it may be.
Great except for just one thing. . . . . August 14, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As other reviews have stated, if you need to use the flash with the picture, you may get a half round shadow (the outline of the lens actually) on the floor in your picture. When attached to the camera the lens gets in the way of the bottom of the flash and can cause a shadow in your picture. As a Real Estate Home Stager, most of my shots are inside and require a flash--so this could turn out to be a problem for me.
