Does a very good jobMay 31, 2008 I am very pleased with my lens the sharpness is very good. I am able to crop to half size or less and still print 11 X 14's with fine detail.
A tripod or a unipod is a must.

I purchaed this as a wedding gift for my sister and new husband who are active amateur nature photographers. They have tried other brands of lenses of this smae nature but have never been as satisfied with the Sony. Highly recommended by them to the Amazon community.

Have been pleased with results using the tele lens. I especially like to photograph birds which it captures well. The only drawback is remembering to change the setting on camera 2 to this lens each time you use it. I would buy this product again as it makes the Sony digital camera even more versatile.

For the price I wondered if the lens would be any good but it works great. I am able to get up close and personal for shots that previously required a good deal of distant. True as some of the other reviewers mentioned you have to zoom out a little to get rid of the vignetting but that is a small price to pay.
It is easy to move from one lens to another with this lens and I find that encourages me to use it more. All in all a very good buy.
