Cheap materialNovember 16, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Very poorly sewn. Cheap hard vinyl for a clumsy case. Would have returned if I did not damage the selling plastic case.
Garmin NUVI 880 protective leather caseNovember 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A high quality leather cover for your Garmin Nuvi 880. This item is a must have if you plan on carrying your GPS unit with you. The leather case is a high quality grain that comes with a belt loop. The case is well designed and allows you to turn on the unit without removing it from the case. A clear plastic window allows you to touch the screen and use it while in the case. I strongly suggest you purchase this inexpensive but well made case. Do not get into a bad habit of leaving your expensive GPS in your car and risk someone breaking into your vehicle in search of your navigation unit. This case makes easier to take your GPS with you in style and comfort.
Perfect case for a great GPSOctober 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Fit, finish, and function. No other case achieves all 3, much less does all 3 fantastically!
It completely protects the unit on all sides. It's designed to allow you to use the unit while still in the case, and it works well in this regard.
The only way this case could be better is if it were waterproof.
Using mine with a Nuvi 760, to help clarify for anyone not clear on 700 series fit.
Recommended, Though Not Specifically Designed for the 255wOctober 24, 2008 I purchased this for my new nuvi 255w. It fit pretty well in this case, except the screen sits about 3/16" too high in the case--probably because this case isn't designed for the 255w.
I drive a Highlander and I can just fold back the cover of the case with the 255w inside and place it on top of my dash, leaning against the windshield, without it sliding around during normal driving. I cut a small hole in the back of the case so the USB connection is accessible with the 255w inside the case--pretty convenient.
So far I've dropped it once on the ground, and it does offer good protection for this, as well as decent protection from screen damage from pressure as it seems the case has a thin sheet of plastic sandwiched between the fake leather.
I would recommend the case. The only change I'd like is for the belt loop to be oriented for horizontal carry, which would make sitting with it on the belt a little easier. I know... who'd want to wear this on their belt, but it's bulky enough to make that the least-undesirable option in many cases if you need to carry it, unless you have some big pockets or carry a purse. A belt loop that can open with a snap would be helpful to, so the nuvi can be removed from the belt for use (pedestrian use) without removing it from the case.
