fantasticOctober 10, 2008 I was planning on getting another dvr for my bedroom and pay the monthly service fee to watch all my recordings but a friend of my told me about this product and it's the best thing I ever brought. I can watch everything I have recorded and watch tv right on my bed. The movies are clear and no interruption with the streamline. I can even watch at work. For the price it's worth it.

Slingbox SERVICE reviewSeptember 26, 2008 If you read any review here, you will know this system really works. It's not magic, just good technology.
What I can offer are two comments - both great - about their service & what happens after purchase.
1) I had troubles configuring my router to allow internet access (DMZ, etc.) They took control of my computer's screen (with my permission) and got it working.
When I changed routers - they again configured it so that it worked. Period.
Outstanding!
2) I broke the IR control cable off from the back of the unit while I was moving things around. I grabbed the wire, not the metal plug & the wire separated from the plug (which was still in the unit.) My bad - without the IR cable, no remote control.
I emailed support requesting a location to purchase another cable: their response - "call us." This seemed strange, but I went with it...
On the phone - the answer: you do not need to purchase another cable - we will send you one within 5 days - what's your address?
Outstanding!
No money, no credit card, they just wanted the address and the serial number (presumably to protect against abuse.)
A superb productAugust 31, 2008 When I found out about the SlingBox, I had to have it. I was going to be away for a while, and I wanted to be able to get all the channels I get at home from where I was going to be. I also loved the feature that would allow me to watch on my cell phone, but I wasn't really sure how good the quality would be.
First, for the setup. As long as your router is near the device, setup is very, very easy. The software guides you through it and it's pretty hard to make a mistake.
The video quality is very good when you're watching on another computer. As long as your on a computer with a broadband connection, even if it's not a great broadband connection, you get good quality video from your home cable box. My upload speed at home is good, but from where I use the SlingBox mostly, the broadband connection is rather slow and shared by a lot of people, but the video is still pretty seamless.
Then, for my favorite part. My cell phone is one where SlingBox Player is available for it. So I installed it not really knowing what to expect. I was very surprised. On my Sprint pocket PC device, the quality is very good. Where EVDO is available, which is pretty much everywhere I've been, you can watch TV like you normally do. Of course the screen is small, but as long as there is EVDO, the video appears without hesitation for the most part. I've watched a number of baseball games on it, and they look very good. Sound is perfect. Just one suggestion, if you're going to watch a complete program, like a baseball game, you're probably not going to have enough battery in your phone. Make sure you have an AC adapter or a car adapter or something to provide your phone with more power.
Bottom line: If you want to watch TV from a computer anywhere in the world, or watch TV from your cell phone, this is pretty much a no-brainer. You need to get this product.
The best techno stuff I've ever boughtAugust 28, 2008 This product answers so many questions I wouldn't know where to start Leave it to say buy one and start really getting your monies worth out of that cable bill
