MainstaySeptember 28, 2008 On a warm day in San Francisco, this product does the trick. IT's light and airy and it does the job. It also, keeps the air circulating in the room.
The 3 speed circulation is good too...sometimes you just want a little air.
Good fan, now that I have it up and running.August 31, 2008 Hi:
I have this this up and running, and I like it. It seems quiet enough and has not given me problems once I got it set up. I liked the price and I think I'm good with the pivoting capability of the direction. I have it set up for keeping my bedroom cool at night here in Arizona, and it seems quiet enough for a decent fan.
The reason I give only three stars is that when I first got it, out of the box, I had some difficulty getting the unit set up. There are two metal screws, one on each side, which are to screw in and get the entire thing firmly set up. However, they screw in to plastic on either side, and either because they are not long enough, or the area they are to screw into is too soft, or because I went too far on one side (pulling the other side a bit?), in the end, it ended up coming apart on me for half an hour or so until I was able to rummage around and find a couple more screws and put them in and cross my fingers.
Frankly, I was ready to throw it away, since I am not very handy, but I finally did manage to get it to hold together, and since then I let it run for a couple of weeks, and everything has been good.
So, I'm just saying maybe someone at the factory can take a look at whether there is a design flaw, or whether I'm just a completely clueless purchaser (certainly a possibility). If it's a design issue, perhaps pertaining to those of us who are a bit more clueless, maybe it could be cleared up with very little expense or trouble. I apologize for any failure on my end to assemble the product in the right way. Again, I am very much not "handy", and so it's possible that I just had a problem here where others won't.
Awesome Fan!August 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have two of these fans and they have worked wonderfully! I have had them for 2 summers now and have had no issues at all with the fans. They are quiet even though they move a lot of air. Because the fan pivots, I am able to maneuver the bottom part around so I can put the fan directly into the window. This really cools the house down at night. I can angle the fan down when my dog needs some extra air. I have an air conditioner, but I find I don't need to use it unless the humidity is really high because these fans work so well. I highly recommend.
"krappy operator"June 4, 2008 I bought this fan for my small apartment. It does cool off your place, but with much noise.
I have three real issues with this fan.
1) the cord itself plugs into the fan. It's not part of the fan, not attached. So you have to be carfeul not to stretch the cord out too much or it will come off and your fan will not run until you plug it back in
2) The switch for the power levels goes from highest to lowest, not the other way around AND the knob keeps falling off. I have to keep putting it back on for it to even work.
3) When you try to move the fan up or down it cracks a lot and sounds as if it will break. And it will not rotate as much as you would thin. And you have to point it to the exact spot you want to be coo0led off or you won't even feel it working.
One good thing about it is I sure can count on blocking noise from the neighbors with this loud fan!
Just what I was looking forDecember 16, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The fan is very quiet on all but the highest setting. I have a high velocity fan, but it's too loud, and because it's metal, it 'clangs' a lot. This fan is made of plastic. I think that's a good thing because it makes this product much quieter than a metal fan. I received the fan a few days after I ordered it. I would do business with this seller again. I got exactly what I ordered.
