Networking nightmare.December 1, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this printer for its networking capabilities. However I found that configuring this printer for my home network to be a nightmare. After I wasted many hours on the project I just gave up and hooked it up via USB. At least that way it works on ONE of my computers.
Good price, not so good performanceNovember 9, 2008 You will be disappointed in this printer. It promises much but delivers poorly. The most annoying thing is its inability to do really basic things...
Biggest problems: 1) constant jams (when picture printing) 2) general misfeeding of paper 3) often feeds multiple pages at a time (making duplex printing nearly impossible since it constantly turns out wrong)
For a printer with so many features it should have a software feature for printing duplex (telling you how to put the paper back in)...but don't waste your time figuring it out on your own since the printer will simply double-feed pages and ruin your attempts at saving paper anyways.
In summary, there are many great features offered by this printer, but what good are all the fancy bells and whistles when it can't do the simple stuff properly?
always been a bad printerNovember 3, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This printer maybe fine for some. But for me I always found myself dissapointed with it. I bought it at circuit city and it said 'Works with your wireless or wired network'. Well yeah it will work with your wireless network if it is wired in. I mean please. Just be honest. Also using it as a networked printer is a pain. For some reason, some days it will just set back to its original name instead of the name that I gave it. Well it is difficult to remember the long default name of the printer. Also from what I can tell if you are out of one of the colors it will not print with the other colors (for me it was mageneta and I wanted to print in black and white and there was black ink left but it wouldnt print out anyway.) I tried setting the page options to black and white. I didnt see an option on the printer to print in black and white. It just refused to print. This is a pretty big deal if you have to print out a report and you dont have time to go buy another $30 ink cartridge. Finally there is no way the numbers they have on speed are anywhere near correct. It is a slow printer and it take a long time for it to warm up and print the first page. But it does have a lot of neat features, but for me if you sacrafice the basics, then those neat features are just not worth it. Frankly the LCD screen is nice, but id rather see the pictures on the computer screen anyway. The reason why this printer is cheap is because it sacraficed the basics. They would rather sell you more ink, then worry about whether you are able to print out what you need to. On principal this offends me greatly.
Wonderful Printer!October 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
To be blatantly honest, this is probably the best printer I have ever brought. Not only does it have many of the same advanced features of other (more expensive) all-in-one printers on the market today, it is designed so much more ergonomically.
From the built-in network connection slot to connect straight into your router, to the paper feeder that is actually within the machine (like an expensive laser printer), it has a high amount of functionality, and functions pretty quickly.
There are quite a number of options to choose from when printing, and the options are all very straightforward. According to what I have heard, that ink for this printer is also on the less-expensive side, which only adds to the advantages. Good luck choosing!
This printer does it all. Great!October 24, 2008 I was apprehensive that some electronics that do more than one function don't operate properly after a few uses. However, after using this printer extensively over the past month, I am very pleased with every function it performs. It takes less room than it would if one had a separate piece for each function, so that's a big plus for me. I'm happy with the quality of the prints as well. Being wireless is an added plus as I can print from my notebook (laptop) from anywhere in the house or even outside on the porch. This is another great product made by a manufacturer that I have always trusted.
