A nice first graphic tabletSeptember 8, 2008 I ordinarily use a Wacom 6"X8"Intous tablet for doing Photoshop editing. I wanted to get my daughters something similar so they could do computer art, but didn't want to buy them a $300 tablet.
The Genius tablet is a great first graphics tablet. It has about 80% of the usability of the Wacom, but at a fraction of the price. The pen and mouse feel a bit on the light side and the lack of buttons on the pad means that you need to move your hand to the keyboard quite a bit, but the pen is still a huge improvement over using a mouse for many activities.
This may also be a good way to find out if you want to use a tablet before stepping up to a Wacom tablet.
Overall Good Product!September 6, 2008 I like this tablet, but if you're a mac user like I am, then Prepare to install the driver for this tablet everytime you want to use the pen...its rather a hassle but the pen is good for all your photoshop needs...
Well...September 6, 2008 This tablet worked well for the first week I had it. So, like an idiot, I threw all the packaging away and can't send it back. I turned my computer on one day and the pen wouldn't work, then the mouse wouldn't work. I changed the batteries. No change. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. No change. I looked up the website for the tablet and they had a driver for Vista. So, I installed that. The mouse started working and the pen now only works in things like GIMP and Paint. Which I guess is alright, considering that's what I was going to use the pen for anyway, but it was kind of cool to use just the pen to do all the mouse functions.
I have glitches with my mouse from time to time still. The pointer drags across the screen without the mouse moving a bit. Or it stops working altogether and I have to restart the computer. I might end up getting a Bamboo Fun at a later date when I've saved some money.
It's just what I neededAugust 30, 2008 I really love it! It makes it so much easier to draw and edit pictures on my computer than when I was just using a trackpad. I've had very few issues with it, but they all came from just figuring out how the tablet works. Once you get accustomed to using it, it's easy and even fun!
Wonderful ProductAugust 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this item for my teenager. She loves to draw and is very good at it. But whenever she wanted to put something on the computer, it never came out right. With this she draws just as though she is using paper and it goes right onto the program. And she can send it to her friends on the web. I haven't been able to get on my computer as much since she got it.
