This is the rumble pad you need for your PCJune 23, 2008 I love this game pad. I have worn out 4 of them. I will continue to buy this pad till it becomes unavailable. Yes I play games on my computer that much. I don't like wireless game pads they use batteries. So if anyone from logitech is reading this review. Don't stop making these. I'm sure I will need another one soon. I don't know what else to say to encourage you to buy this product. Hey don't buy it. That will leave more of them for me. :)
High quality and durable!May 19, 2007 Have been using mine for over three years with no trouble. As for others complaining of calibration problems, upgrade your OS.. Pick up a pair, you won't be disappointed and the price is hard to beat too. One small caveat, the joystick thumb pads (blue thumb pads in picture) will come off if you don't set them with super glue. However, the posts are made of metal and cannot "break" off. Movement for the joysticks is very smooth and accurate. The rumble feature is variable and works great.
Good controllerJuly 27, 2006 I bought this controller years ago, but only opened it recently. It loaded perfectly with Windows XP, and I used it for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. It worked very well, even though it isn't considered a joystick, but it did the job. It even has a throttle switch.
If you buy it you broke it.October 19, 2005 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
As others have said, left stick calibration is borked on the last runs of this model. I used an older one for several years before buying a new one this past spring. This WAS a good all-around pad for casual gamers to play anything from Flight Sims to Racing to Arcade type games with. The one thing they could have done to make this controller shine above the rest was to offer 4 shoulder buttons instead of the 2, along with a throttle this would have gone down in history as the classic PC controller to have. Instead they discontinue this model while selling off the remaining broken stock, forever losing me as a customer.
Since buying the new one I have had it replaced/returned no less than 5 (FIVE) times. Only to have the issue with the left analogue stick calibration resurface. It can happen as soon as you plug in the controller, or after a week or two of use. But eventually it will happen, and when it does, the controller is then rendered as junk. No amount of re-calibration, un/re-plugging USB will fix it for any amount of time.
Logitech does not offer any support for this device anymore, it's easier to return to the place of purchase (I would suggest an entirely different product) than trying to RMA or resolve through them. They offer some obscure EXE that cleans out the calibration registry settings, but it causes other weird issues to happen with the left analogue stick on the controller, so basically it is a hardware issue inside the controller itself.
I've had issues with their larger dedicated flight-sticks calibration in the past, which pretty much puts me in a position not to recommend or buy another of their products ever again.
Bad quality.May 8, 2005 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This gamepad, like other Logitech gamepads, have horrible problems. The analog stick is incredibly inaccurate and never calibrates correctly. I'm a game programmer, and I needed some game pads a while back for a game I made. I purchased 5 Logitech pads at one time. Every single one has given me hardware problems, either with the z slider breaking off, the controller losing connection when the wire is held at certain angles, the analog stick plastic piece falling off, the D pad not sending the correct directions, or the analog stick not calibrating correctly.
In short, stay away from Logitech gamepads. They're of horrible quality.
