Amazon.com Review So, you've got all the coolest new games and a ripping 3D accelerator, but you're still using your keyboard as a controller? If you're looking to take the plunge into true gaming, then the Logitech WingMan Gamepad is the controller to take you there.
The WingMan Gamepad ships with Logitech's WingMan Profiler software to help you program the buttons for each of your favorite games. Installation was easy--we simply connected the WingMan Gamepad to the game port on our sound card, loaded the software, and the step-by-step installation took care of the rest.
The button layout is fairly intuitive, but when you're in the midst of a hard-core race, some of the buttons are a little difficult to reach. You inevitably have to take your finger off the thrust in order to perform other functions. However, since the buttons are fully programmable, reassigning button functions is simple and you can assign single commands or multicommands to each button or trigger.
The built-in two-player connectivity is a nice feature, allowing two players to play out of one port in multiplayer-supported games. The WingMan Gamepad also ships with a few bundled games; however, the choices that shipped with our unit weren't too enticing. All in all, this is a nice, well-priced controller that won't let you down in the heat of a battle.
Pros:
Programmable buttons
Comfortable grip
Easy installation
Two-player connectivity
Great features for the price
Cons:
Some buttons difficult to reach

Perfect for pinballJanuary 5, 2000 5 out of 11 found this review helpful
Though the dual triggers of the Logitech WingMan aren't in the historically correct place for a pinball machine, they're a much better and more responsive alternative to using the SHIFT keys as flipper buttons.
Software installation was boringly easy as was setting the game pad up for use with various pinball games.
If you don't seem to be winning as many replays as you'd like, try the WingMan. And hear the "CLUNK!" of another replay racking up. :)
