Its the Gray Plastic Lock StupidAugust 28, 2008 if you lock the Kindle into the slot with the plastic tab on the back it wont slide out! Its not rocket surgery! The kindle is really cool and the cover works just fine; never slips out...
Good coverAugust 27, 2008 The kindle cover is a fine cover and worthy of far better reviews than most are giving it. It works as prescribed for me and I have needed no tricks like velcro, etc. My kindle is secure and has never fallen out. The back cover also has never been caused to come off from this cover. After about two weeks of use it actually got better and better as it sort of melded to my kindle. I love it. The design could be improved upon yes, but I hear there are flaws with those other, more expensive covers as well.

I like the original cover. It has held the Kindle in place when I am reading. I fold it back upon itself, and it works just fine, I can hold it either with my right or my left hand by the folded back cover. Honestly, don't know why some many people are bawling about this cover. I have been reading this eBook everyday for the last ten months and the cover that came with it is really okay. If you leave it on and use it like it's meant to be used, then it will stretch and shift to look even more like a real book cover. The funny shape that the devise looks like, well, it was designed to look like that to resemble a book..............funny coincidence! NOT!!!!!!! This was deliberate. I love Gabrielle, my Kindle, and hope to someday get a lovely cover from that wonderful man Strangedog, But damn, he is always sold out!!!!!! But I still love my original cover. And the elastic goes over my forearm to hold it close to me when I go places with the GrandKids. That is a feature that Amazon did not bargain for, I guarantee it...and I have looked at the stitching, I can fix it up if it breaks down. Thank all of you for loving the Kindle so much. It's worth it........
Not worthy of the kindleAugust 20, 2008 This cover is simply not worthy of the kindle. The kindle is a wonderful, almost magical device. This cover is worthless. I fiddled with it, I read all the advice on modifying it with velcro and the like so that it actually performed the intended function. I gave up. I bought a cover that is wonderful. It is the cover that should have come with the Kindle, if Amazon hadn't been so cheap. The m-edge cover is superior in every way. Don't waste your money.
Pastor's KindleAugust 19, 2008 The Kindle is a gift for a friend and I have not ordered mine yet or even used the product. The recipient, however, is very pleased
