I am a long time Garmin gps user and I prefer Garmin to other brands.
I bought my Garmin Nuvi 265 wt to replace my Garmin Street Pilot c550.
This unit is very fast to lock on to the satellite and it's response is very fast and accurate. If you deviate from the calcuated path, it will recalcuate right away. This is noticeably faster than the nuvi 760. It's search for points of interest is also very fast.
The new user interface is much better and well organize as compared to the Street Pilot and Nuvi 760. I especially like the speed limit and driving speed on the same screen. The real time traffic update is great and the advertisement is hardly noticeable.
The screen is bright and easy to look at even with sun glare.
Overall I like this unit very much, except for the bluetooth suppport.
I have a Samsung Juke (sch-u470) which I bought last year. This phone is not offically supported on Garmin's website which I found out after the fact. My old Street Pilot C550 works great with this phone but not the Nuvi 265 wt. The 265 wt is able to reconize this phone in discovery mode and even pairs with it. However, once it is paired, the bluetooth causes the nuvi to continually reboot. So beware.
Overall the bluetooth issue cause me to give this GPS two stars instead of five. I am somewhat disappointed that upgrading to a newer Garmin unit cause me to lose my bluetooth for hands free calling.

I've been using the Garmin 265wt now for a couple of months. It is excellent. Works great and simple simple simple. Easy to navigate the menus through intuitive touch screens. I've yet to use the feature that routes me around heavy traffic (in major cities only) but like everything else, I'm sure it will deliver the goods when I need it.
For me, this unit was the right combination of features and price. I didn't need/want MP3 players and a cell phone connectivity and etc etc etc like you'll find on all the higher priced Garmin models. This is one of those gizmos that I wish I had bought 3 years ago --- I like it that much!!

I have purchased a Garmin 265WT couple of days ago. Just checked with Amazon and found out that there's on sale. The price is $30 cheaper than couple of days ago. I have called to Amazon and asked for the price adjustment. The representative told me that there's no price adjusment available in Amazon. The only way to get $30 back is to return my received unit and place the order again to get the current cheaper price for the same unit. It's a painful exercise...

The nuevi 265WT, like other Garmin nuevi GPS devices, excels in the ease of use department. The map is easy to read, menus are intuitive, and an updated interface makes it easier to view traffic alerts. Features are nicely integrated so as not to needlessly clutter the screen. For example, telephone controls only appear when the nuevi is actively paired with a Bluetooth phone.
Cons: Screen not as bright as more expensive nuevi models No way to avoid a specific road from a planned route Can't change information displayed in the data field on the map (more expensive nuevi 7x5 models let you choose between arrival time, distance, Lackluster Bluetooth hands-free speakerphone call quality Searching POI database by spelling a business name is slow Cannot sort Favorites alphabetically; saved addresses always listed in order of closeness to your current location Can't customize the colors or layout of the map Touchreen less sensitive than older models. Requires a firmer touch. The (free) traffic update feature has already saved me time on several trips. Interface is intuative, love the ability to associate my own pictures with "Favourite" locations. My son especially loves the "Black Pearl" as the 'car' icon.
Highly recommended.
