Nice unit for some extra powerOctober 28, 2008 This is a handy unit since it can charge both small usb devices and provides AC power for laptops or other electronics of similar wattage. I can probably get 45-60 additional minutes out of this with my laptop. I usually keep one in the car to use as an inverter. It seems to work out pretty well. The only concern I have is sometimes my car is left in extreme heat and so I wonder how adversely affected the battery is on this unit.
Good productOctober 24, 2008 Good product, it has done all I expected, powered my Dell Latitide D630 for a bit over 2 hours, so that gives me plenty of battery power on the go. Also since is can work as a inverter with plane and car adapter, it's perfect for me. The 2 USB ports also are great you can charge your phone or any other gadget and laptop, it's great! If you're looking for a nice product for multiple uses, this is it. ;-) hope this review helped.
Much more expensive than Black & Decker CPI100BSeptember 18, 2008 I like that this product uses lithium cells instead of NiMH but, for the price, the Black & Decker CPI100B is better choice, as low as $38.

I got two when Amazon had them on sale for about $50 each. They work well for some devices, but don't work at all with some power hungry laptops like my Dell Inspiron 9400/E1705. This particular laptop has an AC adapter rated at 80 watts. Although still under 100 watts, the device runs for about 1 second then shuts off. There is also no direct DC output from the battery which would have made it more versatile. But, for $50, it's not a bad deal.
