This unlocked cell phone can be used with a GSM network service provider and it provides tri-band connectivity (900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz) as well as GPRS data connectivity. It does not come with a SIM card, and it requires that you provide a SIM card for usage with your selected service provider.
When paired with a compatible 3G network that uses UMTS 2100 MHz connectivity (found in Europe and Asia), you'll enjoy a variety of feature-rich wireless services with speeds up to 384 Kbps--from data connectivity to your office to multimedia streaming, and take advantage of simultaneous voice and data services. In the United States and foreign territories where 2100 MHz 3G networks are not available, you'll continue to receive data service via EDGE network (depending on network compatibility).
Phone Features The candybar-style K810i has standard send/end and soft keys and a five-way navigation pad below the phone's screen, as well as round, dotted numeric keypad buttons for added style and easy pressing. Illuminated camera icons to the side of the main keypad, which light up when in camera mode, allow you to access camera menu options at the touch of a button. The 2-inch screen has a 240 x 320-pixel resolution and a 256K color depth. The phone has a 64 MB memory, which can be expanded via Memory Stick Micro (M2) media, and it can store up to 1000 contact entries with storage for multiple phone numbers and support for photo and ringer ID. The phone also displays the most recent 30 received/dialed/missed calls.
Unlike one-size-fits-all fixed focus, this 3.2-megapixel camera phone's auto focus homes in on the subject in the centre of the screen, so you capture exactly what you want. It includes a BestPic mode, which lets you take nine photos in quick succession when you press the shutter button. Select Photo fix to improve pictures that you think can be better. In a one-click operation, brightness, light and contrast are adjusted to give you the best possible picture.
It can also capture video in QCIF resolution (176 x 144 pixels, 15 frames per second), and it provides support for PictBridge technology so you can print your still photos without the need of a PC (either using USB or Bluetooth). The phone includes a secondary VGA camera on the front of the phone for making video calls (compatible network required).
The digital audio player is compatible with MP3 and AAC/AAC+ formats. Additionally, you can play MPEG4 and 3GPP videos. With the TrackID service, you can identify any song that you can hear by just recording a snippet of sound using the microphone. After sending the file for recognition, you'll have the name, artist and album sent to your phone. It also includes a built-in FM radio with RDS, which displays the name of the currently playing song (when tuned to compatible radio stations).
This phone provides Bluetooth version 2.0 wireless connectivity with EDR (enhanced data rate), and includes profiles for communication headset, handsfree car kits, and audio/video remote control. With the A2DP Bluetooth profile, you can stream your music to a pair of compatible Bluetooth stereo headphones. You can connect your laptop (either via Bluetooth or wired USB) and enjoy dial-up networking--surf the Internet, send email, and access files from a server.
If you're looking for a mobile productivity partner, the K810i has you covered. Support is built in for sending and receiving pictures, text, graphics, and sound via MMS messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in still and video camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging possibilities. T9 text entry, a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit-- a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.
The phone also ships with a built-in email client with support for POP3 and IMAP4 protocols, while the included Access NetFront Web Browser allows you to surf full HTML web sites. The K660i also supports RSS feeds, allowing you to use your phone to view up-to-the-minute news and other content from selected Web sites and blogs. Just subscribe to the feed and let it come to you.

awesome!!!November 14, 2008 i wanted a camera-phone that would enable me to take decent pictures,so i don't have to carry a camera. this phone's camera is awesome!!! in fact this is probably the best phone i've ever had, and i've had about 15 different ones. i wanted to find some drawbacks to post here, so i found a couple: 1.sony-ericsson's menu- not very intuitive (actually, not the menu itself, but the key setup- no dedicated "answer/call" or "hang up" key, it's all softkeys), takes some getting-used-to 2.if you text a lot you won't like the tiny keys. i have good dexterity(being a guitar player :) and i still find them very small

The phone simply died one night, and doesn't recharge or turn on.. careful with these international phones when it comes to warranty.. Sony asks for proof of purchase that includes additional information like the IMEI # of the phone, and an invoice that includes authorized dealers contact information.. I am now stuck between Sony and Amazon trying to sort it out, and am extremely frustrated!! Phone lasted 3 months!

I am giving this phone and other SONY ERICSSON MODELS a BIG ZERO STAR not because it has any functional flaw in terms of lost signals, voice quality, wifi features etc. Even the phone with latest and greatest of features won't last for more than 6 months because of a very simple flaw in their design.
WITHIN A COUPLE OF MONTHS YOU WONT BE ABLE TO CHARGE IT !! When you put the phone on a charger, the battery charges through a pin-point contact. (LOOK AT THEIR CHARGING INTERFACE CLOSELY AND YOU PROBABLY DON'T HAVE TO READ THE REST OF THE REVIEW). Its literally a pin-point contact. After a couple of months the contact becomes dysfunctional as you would expect from such a contact. Compare it to the charging connector you get on other phones.
Me and my wife bought two SONY phones which has the same interface and the contact broke in 6 months on one of the phones. Luckily both the phones were same so we managed to swap the battery each night before we got a new phone. There is no way out of this dead end except throwing that phone because the battery is perfect but you CANNOT CHARGE it !!...
Imagine someone gave you a Macbook Air with 2 spare batteries but you cannot charge the battery. I don't know what the bozos at SONY were thinking when they designed this phone.
And if that is not enough, they have the same flaky interface for transferring data, or connecting their head phone.
If any sane person reads and understands this review he will NOT BUY SONY ERICCSSON phones which have this NOVEL and CRAPPY interface. I am a big fan of SONY and 90% of all electronic items in my house is SONY, but this is ridiculous. The problem is NOBODY will look at this flaw when buying a cell-phone because its so rare that you cannot charge your cell phone even though the battery is fine !!
It's just great for me!May 5, 2008 I just have to say that this phone was just what I need. Reception is good. The camera is really useful and it takes really good pictures, menus are fine to use, simply it's a really great phone
Best phone ive hadApril 8, 2008 this phone is awesome it is a smart phone with all the features of a windows mobile without the problems. The camera takes amazing photos. t would recommend this phone to anybody.
