Product Description HP DF800B2 Digital Picture Frame offers 800x600 high-resolution picture display and supports most commonly used memory cards. Its built-in USB port also supports USB thumb drives adding more capability for picture sharing. The DF800B2 comes with two interchangeable frames; one wood-like frame and one black frame to match a range of decors and color schemes. It's so easy to use. Just take your pictures, remove the memory card from the digital camera, insert it into the picture frame, and enjoy the picture slideshow. It's that simple!
THE SLIDESHOW SHOWS PICTURES BACKWARDSDecember 2, 2008 The slideshow shows the pictures backwards, in reverse chronological order, according to Date Modified. It ignores the file name. I tested this over and over. It will dislay the picture you took last first, and the picture you took first last. So if it's a trip, you'll see the end of the trip, though the trip backwards through to the beginning of the trip. There is no option to get around it, other than if you only want to watch you pictures "shuffled" in random order. Otherwise there is a problem in the 'firmware' in the display, the play backward. The proof of this too, is there are 9 sample pictures that come with the display in internal memory numbered 1 through 9. The 'Date Modified' of picture 9 is first, picture 8 is 1 minute, later, picture 7 date is 1 minute later and so on... to picture 1 which is the oldest date... when slideshow displays.... this backwards dating 1 minute apart .. forces the 9 slides to display in the proper order 1 through 9... so obviously HP knew they had a problem with the firmware... and rather than fix the firware... the backward dated there little 9 slide slideshow 1 minute apart..... my comment on that is... shame on HP for such a 'get it to market' stunt ... this firmware update should be out there and easily accessible... I'm working with support to get such a firmware update... that apparently the support people aren't even well up on.... but it's impossible to miss... and they must have sold a ton of these....
Nice FarmeOctober 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This frame has a beautiful picture and is well made and easy to use. My only nitpicks are that it always starts from the same picture when turned on and the remote pause button will not let you go from run to pause and back again - it makes you walk thru one extra step (viewing 12 frames at one time).
I guess there is a third complaint - you cannot simply connect it to your PC and let the PC run throught the frame. Pictures must be either copied to the frame's internal memory - or insert a USB flash drive or card or some other external media source.
All considered, it is very nice and I would buy it again. I may buy the 10 inch also.
Nice but a big hassleOctober 1, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought it as a birthday present for my wife. She loves it. But it is a huge hassle to put pictures on. I have all my photos on my computer. I tried using the USB Cable provided to transfer the pictures, however, my computer said that it did not recognize the program and would not let me download pictures straight to the frame. So that left me with having to download the pictures to a jump drive and then you have to save the pictures one at a time instead of having the option of saving them all at once. This is another huge pain in the butt if you have a lot of picture like I did. It took me at least an hour to save each picture one at a time because the actual process to do this is quite slow. I gave it a 3 because the picture quality is great and my wife loves it. She even has talked about getting her mother one for Christmas, but I think I will do my research to see if there is another brand out there that I wouldn't have to hassle with so much.
Pretty Good for the moneySeptember 7, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this item as a gift for my husbands grandmother. It has incredible image quality. The shuffle image and menu's are easy to use, even if you are only a little computer/tech savvy. The only real issue is that the internal memmory of 128 meg is way too small. If you take high quality resolutions images with your digital camera, then it barely holds 40 pictures. I overcame this by installing a 1 Gig Scandisk card, then transfered all images from a USB Thumbdrive onto the Scandisk Card, instead of the internal memory. Of course, I had to type up instructions for the other family members who will be adding photos to the frame prior to sending it to the finaly giftee. In any rate, it is still a great frame, much better than any other I have previously owned/used.
Great GiftAugust 2, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This frame was easy to set up and add the pictures. We gave this gift to our children and they loved to see the pictures and relive the memories of their childhood. I love that you can add music, has a clock with and alarm and that you can change settings to fit your needs. Only thing I would have liked it an optional battery so you did not have to have it plugged in all the time. If you give at a party where you want to display you have to find on outlet. A rechargeable battery would be great.
