Reviewed: Panasonic DMC-FX37A 10.1MP Digital CameraNovember 30, 2008 Panasonic DMC-FX37A 10.1MP Digital Camera I haven't done any extensive testing of this camera, but everything seems fine. This is similar to my Panasonic DMC-TZ3, with less Zoom (5x) but more memory. The DMC-FX37A is quite slim and the battery charger is small, so it is very handy for travelling. I've used it for candle light photos (with and without the 'candle light scene' exposure preset. Not sure which I prefer - I edit my photos in Paint Shop Pro anyway. I did get some usable photos under very low light conditions. The extra wide angle is very handy for situations where you can't back up any further. I haven't used the movie mode yet. So, I would recommend either the DMC-FX37A 10.1MP, or the DMC-TZ series. The latter is a bit larger with 10x zoom. Both have good lenses (Leica).
good cameraNovember 16, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Had and lost a panasonic camera before this one. Previous camera had a 10x optical zoom. I am happy to give up the extra zoom. This camera is much smaller...more pocket size, which is nice. Video is so good you would think it is a video camera. Night shots turn out very nice( did a few cityscape shots over a lake). Haven't actually used the camera a lot yet, but previous Lumix camera was really nice....The 25mm is awesome, it is very cool to take a picture of a room and get the whole room.
A great little cameraOctober 19, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this fx37 as a complement to my Canon 40D. First - it is small enougt to always bring it along. To get a good picture the first thing you must do is to bring a camera! Most of the time I bring my fx37 instead of my 40D. Second - the wide angle of 24 is great. It is easy to get photoes in a room and get most of the room in the picture. Third - the 5x optical zoom is large enough for most pictures you will need, special handheld with the anti-shake. The anti-shake is a great help to get clear pictures. There are many more things this camera can do - and it is so easy to handle. So, all in all, this p&s is quite a little camera and best of all - it takes GREAT pictures! I can recomend it as an all around camera and especially a camera to bring on regular vacation trips. My 40D will have to wait for the big African safari trips and similar special events.
