Great Mouse pad... not so great wrist restDecember 2, 2008 The mouse pad itself is great. Both sides of the mousepad provides exactly what Razor advertises: a smooth surface, and a rough one. They both do a great job with my Logitech G5 mouse. I originally started off by using the control side, but the surface of that side started to wear down the "feet" of the G5. I then switched over to the "speed" and things have been fine ever since.
I also purchased this mousepad because of the wrist rest... but once I started to use it with this mousepad, it was very uncomfortable and actually cut-off the circulation in my wrists. Yes, I was sitting in good posture, and I tried to get used to it but I just couldn't. It was very uncomfortable and I ended up taking the wrist rest out.
All in all, a great mouse pad for gaming and everyday use. The wrist rest isn't that great for me, but it could just be a personal preference. Looks great on my desk, along with my G5, and I recommend this product to anyone who desires control with their mouse.
Metal Mouse Pad!November 25, 2008 Definetly complements ANY mouse you use. This thing is bullet-proof! It is made out of Aluminum and each side has a different texture. One for control, flip it over and it's for speed. Recomended.
Get your face out my pants! ... But it's so BIG!November 13, 2008 I'm not a gamer and I love this mousepad, if you use a desktop computer you MUST get this.
The only reason you shouldn't get this is if you have limit very VERY limited desk space ... it's basically 1sqft ... even with that in mind when you open your amazon box you'll be surprised and be like "damn that's a BIG mousepad"
Only thing about this mousepad is you really need to keep it clean, but that should be protocol in the first place, take care of your equipment and it'll take care of you.
4 stars ... only because it is damn expensive.
Smooth and accurateNovember 4, 2008 My experience with precision mouse pads designed for gaming is limited, but this is so far the best that I've used. Previously I used a RatPadz GS which was wearing out after several years of service. It was a great mouse pad, and I debated just buying another one, but I decided to try something else as the technology had advanced somewhat since I bought it. After reading the reviews, and especially after learning that the Exactmat is anodized aluminum instead of plastic and thus probably more durable, I made the decision to get one. I bought the package that also comes with the wrist rest. I purchased a Logitech G5 mouse at the same time, the new one with two thumb buttons. The combination of the two is excellent.
So far I've preferred to use the smoother side. I can't really tell the difference in accuracy between the two sides and the smoother side is quieter and easier to move the mouse on. It makes little noise. I've used a wrist rest for many years and the one that comes with the package is a good one. I especially like that the wrist rest is part of a larger neoprene pad that fits under the Exactmat so you don't have to worry about the wrist rest moving around. With my RatPadz, I used a small separate wrist rest and often had to move it back into place. The printed Razer logo is wearing off the wrist rest but it isn't affecting comfort. The trick with a wrist rest is to rest the heel of your palm on it, not your actual wrist as that can potentially damage the nerves and tendons. People with smaller hands, or those that like to use a lower mouse sensitivity and thus need to move the mouse further across the pad will probably want to use it without the wrist rest, at least when gaming.
This certainly isn't the least expensive mouse pad, and there are less expensive alternatives that will certainly serve you well. But if you are willing to spend a bit extra, I think the Exactmat is worth the price.
incredible padOctober 31, 2008 i've been wanting this thing for over a year now. have been waiting to come to the usa to buy this and finally got the chance. its a complete success.
the two surface perform as described. you can feel the difference the moment u touch the surface and the mouse also performs differently on each side.
the mousepad is solid and adequate. can cleave a head if needed. the mouserest is a welcome addition.
i use a logitech vx nano cordless laser notebook mouse and this thing is really good. but only for enthusiasts. no point paying so much for regular use.
