Amazon.com Product Description The HD-280 Pro is a closed-back, circumaural headphone designed for professional-quality monitoring. Its exceptional attenuation of environmental noise (up to 32 dB) makes it particularly useful for use in high-noise environments, in outside broadcasts, and for DJs. Featuring rugged design and optimum sensitivity, the HD-280 Pro will deliver detailed and natural reproduction of music and speech with a wide frequency response of 8 to 25,000 Hz (-10 dB).
Owing to its collapsible ear-pieces, the HD-280 Pro is highly compact when it comes to transportation. And all parts that are subject to wear and tear--such as earpads, headband padding, and the audio cord--are easily replaceable, ensuring long life. The headphone's 9-foot cord is detachable, so if it wears out you have only to replace the cord, not the headphone itself. The cord is made of oxygen-free copper for pure, long-lasting audio transmission.
Product Description The Sennheiser HD 280 headphones are designed for the professional who requires outstanding communication in their daily audio work. Regardless of the very noisy conditions you might be in, the HD 280 headphones help you get the job done by offering you excellent insulation from ambient noise with a linear, precise reproduction of the audio material. Comfort is also taken into consideration with the HD 280's. Soft, circumaural ear pads guarantee comfort over long periods of use. You can even replace all wearing parts if needed - single-sided coiled cable, ear pads & headband padding.
Worth itJuly 2, 2008 These headphones are amazing. Very good quality sound coupled with excellent noise cancelation. The cord can get in the way a little, but seeing as how that is the only annoyance, I still gave it a five-star review. I recommend these for anyone looking to isolate themselves from a distracting environment or seeking a rewarding musical experience.
Music Head JunkyJuly 1, 2008 Great headphones for a gr8 price. If u really want exceptional quality monitoring headphones in a noisy environment where you need it to be at a minimum then this pair the HD 280 is perfect for the job. My only gripe with it is with my ears not fitting too comfortably around it, not recommended for regular personal usage with a walkman for biking as an example.
Wait for it...June 27, 2008 I bought these about half a year ago when they were on sale for $65, after graduating from Sennheiser EH-150 Evolution Hi-Fi Stereo Headphones
I wouldn't say I was impressed, given my very high expectations, but sometimes I'll be listening to music and it's gooood.
Cons: - Jaw-ear area starts to hurt after a few hours of use; - If you're going bass or volume-heavy, be wary of emitting noise; - Been told I look ridiculous wearing them
Great ProductJune 23, 2008 Great Headphones, amazing sound. I use these with my Zune 80gb and on my laptop with HD sound card. I also play some games that require directional hearing, and these headphones work great. At first they were a bit tight, even though I have a relatively small head, but after waring a few times they fit perfect. Block out external sound well, and very little leakage even at higher volume.
Great sound, but too tightJune 15, 2008 They sounded great, but they were way too tight (and I have a small head). They gave me a headache after less then an hour of wearing them. I returned them and bought a pair of AKG K240s. The AKG's are much more comfortable, but I'd say the Sennheisers may have sounded just tad better, though it's had to say for sure since I couldn't listen side-by-side.
