Great Garmin Accessory.July 3, 2008 It does exactly what it was advertised. It allows you to quickly place your Garmin unit on your dash and stow the whole setup, with the idea that if it is not in plain sight, then it will not attract attention to your car as a theft target!
Good Garmin Portable Dashboard MountJuly 3, 2008 This portable friction dashboard mount does exactly what I want it to. It stays where I put it. It's a good size and shape. This mount lets me position the navigator out of direct light, so I can easily view the screen. It's a good safety device because I can position the navigator with this mount so that I don't have to take my eyes off the road. Great design - money well-spent.
Great accessoryJuly 3, 2008 I bought my husband a Garmin Nuvi GPS for his birthday and he and a friend took it for a trial run on a five-hour drive "up north." The suction-cup window mount that comes with the Nuvi is annoying, at best, because it doesn't stay adhered to the windshield the way it should (whose windshield, really, is as clean as it should be, right?).
So when I told him this dashboard mount was available instead, he jumped at the idea and we ordered one immediately. We have used it several times since it arrived. The GPS connects securely to the mount via a ball-and-socket-style system, yet we're able to swivel the GPS quickly and easily. The dashboard mount is heavy and "grippy" enough that it stays put on the dashboard, even during sharp turns. We love this accessory and the ease of its use ... and as a result, we use our GPS more often--even just for fun, when we actually know where we're going.
SkepticalJuly 3, 2008 When I purchased my friction mount to hold my Nuvi 760 gps I was not convinced that when I turned the corner the gps would slide off the dash or accross the dash. Much to my surprise when I hit a bump or turn the corner everything stayed right in place.
great attachmentJuly 2, 2008 I purchased this for my garmin nuvi 350 because in ny it they see a ring on you windshield they break into your car and steal your gps aside from that this is much easier to use with your gps it has a lock so that it stays where you put it on the dash board I really love it dont think twice it is woth the money
