It does what it saysOctober 15, 2008 This "brush" pulls out a lot more hair a lot faster than a regular comb or brush. We have a Great Pyrenees and when she is shedding, there is a LOT of hair. She does not like the feel of this tool as much as the regular ones. You can not use it on her legs as it seems to hurt her. I do believe it shortens the time it takes to brush her, but I am not sure if the overall results are any better.
Buy ThisOctober 15, 2008 First off, I want to say that a dog that sheds will always be a dog that sheds... unless you totally shave it there is no miracle maker out there that can make your dog's shedding stop. However, the Furminator is one of those products that truly will decrease the amount of shedding from your dog. You can see the proof in the amount of fur that this tool pulls out of your pet's coat.
I have two Standard Schnauzers and one Brussels Griffon, both breeds have wire fur and are traditionally hand stripped into dense wiry coats that are non-shedding. Since none of our dogs are shown we don't strip their coats, which results in some shedding. The Furminator almost completely eliminates this shedding in our dogs.
The Furminator is easy to use and very effective. It also gently pulls out things like burs or leaves that can get knotted in pet's fur. This brush has replaced my de-shedding rake and slicker brush, and it totally worth the money.
Depends on the undercoatOctober 14, 2008 My dog has a thin wiry coat, but she sheds all year round. I purchased this item hoping it would help, but apparently she doesn't have the right undercoat for this brush. I do get a fair amount of fur out when I brush her, but it is similar to a regular brush. I was initially disappointed with my purchase as I was hoping to decrease shedding and the amount of fur that is all over my house and car. I just didn't think it worked as advertised. But I gave the brush a try on my mother's dog and there was an astounding difference. One stroke of the brush down her back and the brush was full of fur. After about 10 minutes I had a large pile of fur on the ground. I'm considering just giving her the brush since it works so much better on her dog's fur. So make sure your dog actually has an undercoat, otherwise the brush is not useful or worth the money.
Well Worth the PriceOctober 14, 2008 My vet recommended this for my black lab-rottweiler dog who sheds an incredible amount... we furminated her for the first time and got a HUGE bag of fur... now we furminate her briefly once a day, just a few quick passes, and it has DRAMATICALLY cut down on the amount of time we have to sweep and wash her bedding! It's super easy to use, the dog doesn't seem to mind at all, and it's the easiest brush to clean that you'll ever use! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!
Very good product! Does exactly what it claims.October 14, 2008 This product has dramatically decreased the amount of pet hair in my house. I use it on both of my pets (dog and cat) and no longer find tumbleweed type furballs floating around on my hardwood floors. It's a great product- easy to use and my pets enjoy being pampered!
