4 out of 5 stars Works great if you broadcast you SSID   September 6, 2008
This card works great when you get it working. It would seem that you have to broadcast the SSID of your WiFi access point - which is what happens at most hot-spots. I am using it in an HP R707 camera and since the camera stays on in the charging dock it is a great way to just plop the camera in and forget about it. Some time later I can organize the photos. The transfer rate is approxiamtely 800KB/sec to an Office Depot Ativa 802.11g access point.

3 out of 5 stars Brilliant idea, works well, but why...   August 31, 2008
I've read about this product in the Wall Street Journal - one of the American news papers who are aware that there is life outside America. I needed a wi-fi camera for one of my customers and considering my very poor experience with the Nikon WT-3 (considered "obsolete" and no longer supported by Nikon, within a year after date of purchase) this seemed like it could fit the bill.

It was easy to setup and works very well indeed. My customer is absolutely delighted with it. I can recommend it without restrain.

But why:
1. Do I need to bother a friend in America to take delivery and forward it to me? This is the 21st century, dear folks at Amazon.
2. Does the support dept of the Eye-fi not hve the courtesy to respond to an email with a pretty simple question (can I use more than one Eye-fi device on the same network/server)?

5 out of 5 stars Eye Fi SD Card   July 27, 2008

It took me two tries to load the software on my Vista Computer. It connects with my computer and transfers photos easily from my Nikon D40. I have just tested it with a couple of photo's.

2 out of 5 stars Great Concept, Less then perfect execution   July 25, 2008
I like the concept of this device, but it does not work well enough for my needs. However it might for other customers, just not me. I have returned it.

My problems:
In my use it was slow to connect to the wireless network when it turned on. Sometimes it would take 5+ minutes of the camera being on before transfers would start.

It seemed to take far too long to upload only a handful of pictures. About a minute a picture.

It really drained my Canon SD600's battery

It doesn't upload videos. I want to "cut the cord" to my camera. Whats the point of having a wireless camera, if you still regularly have to get out the cable to get your videos off of the camera. If I have to connect the camera to get the videos, it was quicker to just download all the pictures at the same time.

Speed and videos aside it was convenient. If you don't take many videos on you camera and don't mind turning your camera and walking away for a while while it downloads. It could work great for you.

4 out of 5 stars Makes life easier ... mostly   July 25, 2008

Pros:
works and does what it says it will do and does it pretty fast.

Cons:
can't upload videos wirelessly, can only upload to one computer at a time (ie: if you have two computers that should be receiving the pictures, you're out of luck)

NOTE: if you have AVG Free Antivirus as i did, you wont be able to upload your pictures wirelessly until you disable or remove your anti-virus.

Even though i have way more cons than pros, i do greatly enjoy this product ... before i had this, it would take me weeks to upload pictures to my computer as i would just be too lazy to find the cables and whatnot. The camera's battery life does get a little shorter when Eye-Fi is in it but it's not THAT big a difference, if you ask me.
