It uses an included signal amplifier to boost VHF signals by 12db and UHF signals by 11db, and is only about $8.00 more. You'll get more for your money, and you won't feel like you've been ripped off.
Is HDTV antenna worth the money?July 13, 2008 I have bought a HDTV recently. I thought if I had a digital HDTV antenna, I could pull in more digital channels. I was disappointed to find that the Terk HDTV indoor antenna failed to do so. In fact, the old Radio Shack enhanced indoor antenna gave me better reception.

I live five miles from Sears Tower, in Chicago. I get 16 over the air channels in analog all of them watchable. Channels 7, 9, and 26 as well as low power channels 23 and 48 come in as good as cable TV.
Now with DTV and various antennas all I can get is THREE stations, 7, 9 and 32. And 7 and 9 are all pixleated.
So it seems 16 watchable channels have been reduced to 1 watchable DTV channel. So much for progress, but I guess it's much more important for rich people to be able to have yet MORE cell phones (that's what the TV signals will be used for) than let poor people have TV.
I guess I'm gonna have to come up with money for cable.
DTV is NOT a good thing for us urban poor.

This Terk HDTVi Indoor Antenna For HDTV is Perfect. I was tired of paying cable prices for local channels. So thought I would give this antenna a try. It pulls in every single HDTV local channel in Phoenix, AZ that is currently available!!! It's awesome!
Oh and this, you may find hard to believe, but it is very TRUE! The picture with this antenna is even *****better***** than what I had with Cox Cable on my Toshiba 73 inch HDTV 1080P!!!
I live in Chandler, AZ. I'm very happy with this product. If you're in Phoenix, AZ; I would certainly give this antenna a try, it's worth every single penny!!!
Great if you're in a good locationJune 25, 2008 I'm lucky to be in an area that's within 8 miles of all 3 major stations broadcasting OTA HDTV. Once you find the right position, it's amazing. Dolby Digital 5.1 and 1080i is fantastic. Two sports that benefit greatly from HDTV are Golf and Hockey. It's really sweet watching them in HDTV, it's a whole new spectator experience.
If you're having trouble finding the sweet spot, move in smaller increments. In the right position I get all free HDTV stations crystal clear, but if I move the antenna a quarter inch, I lose half. Digital is much more sensitive to position. Also, you DO NEED to extend the telescopic antennae as well. For $30, this can't be beat. I actually cancelled Cable. Between free OTA HD and my Bluray PS3, who needs to spend $100 a month on cable.
PS: LOST looked fabulous in HD, can't wait till next season.
