Lots Of Pixels In a Small Thin Box This 46-inch HDTV is just six inches thick but packs in a lot of technology for outstanding performance. Quality speakers are hidden away to maintain a beautiful, minimalist look that takes up less space in your room. The display is 1080p, which means it has the full 1920 x 1080 high definition resolution with progressive scan that is the highest quality HDTV standard today. With large televisions, this is important, as having a dense array of over two million pixels prevents the eye from seeing pixelation, especially at close distances.
The television is able to display any video signal that is connected to it. When a 1080p signal is the input, it is passed through with no down conversion, and the 1080p signal is maintained from beginning to end, giving the best picture quality. When a lower resolution is detected, whether it is 720p HD or a DVD, the signal is automatically scaled to display at 1080p, with minimal side effects and a very detailed picture.
Vibrant Colors You've Never Seen Before The LT-46133 incorporates a slew of new technologies that give this television the most realistic color reproduction available on the market today. The new x.v.Color standard is supported, which dramatically increases the color space available, with 80% more color than standard HDTV. The television also supports Deep Color, a new standard that incorporates 10-bit color depth versus the previous 8-bit color depth. With Deep Color, shaded images show less banding and greater contrast.
Mitsubishi's Full Spectrum Color is an exclusive system that uses a wide range of phosphors in the LCD's backlight for brighter and more vivid reds and yellows, and more shades of green, cyan, and blue. Along with Mitsubishi's Color 4D Noise Reduction and PerfectColor, you get a wider color palette and the ability to fine tune the set to your exact preferences. The end result is a picture that is brighter, smoother, and more realistic than ever, with colors that have never been seen on a television set before.
Connections Galore You don't need to worry about running out of connections with the LT-46133. It has a total of three HDMI 1.3 inputs with Simplay HD certification, so you can connect your Blu-Ray player and HD DVD player, and still have an input left over. It also has three component video inputs (two rear, one side), a side USB connection so you can display up to five megapixel photographs on the television, and two rear A/V inputs with S-Video, as well as a Dolby Digital/PCM output and an analog stereo output.

After months of researching which brand to buy, I decided to stick with Mitsubishi. I had owned one of their TV for close to 20 years before it broke down. The repairman said they don't sell parts for this TV anymore, which forced me to look into purchasing a new TV.
I'd researched many brands of TV including Sony to decide which one was the clearest. Sony to me had the best picture but I was afraid to buy their TV because I had a history of repairs with their TVs.
Then when I saw the high rating on the Mitsubishi LT46133 in Consumer Report, I decided to purchase this TV.
The color is brilliant and the picture looks awesome. I brought an up-conversion DVD player and there's truly a difference in clarity between an up-conversion DVD player and a regular DVD player. I'm just waiting for the Blu-Ray player to go down in price.
The 3 HDMI inputs and 2 of each composite, component and S-video inputs really makes it convenient for all your video equipments.
If you purchase this TV, I suggest you lower the contrast, brightness and back light settings. Otherwise the color white would be too bright.
Amazon was great with delivering this. I ordered this Monday night and the TV was at my apartment Thursday morning.

Have owned this set for several weeks now, and absolutely LOVE IT! Spectacular color and picture quality, and great ergonomics with it's thin bezel, slim profile and swivel base. This TV has a great feature set, build quality and connectivity vs. Sony and Samsung, and no shiny black plastic!
I researched this purchase for many weeks, and found the Mitsubishi to be comparable to the best rated sets out there. Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase. Set was purchased and fulfilled from Amazon, and delivered on time without a hitch.

I haven't owned another HDTV, so I have little for comparison, but this thing looks great. Great viewing angle, great inputs/outputs. The menu is a little non-intuitive, the channel info box is big and blocks much of the screen until it eventually disappears, and channel changing in general is quite slow, but I think that's common for digital TV. --added a month later-- The HDTV "Blur" seems a excessive with this. Things are very clear unless there is a lot of movement. Dance and Sports are impossible to watch.
