| Editorial Reviews:
From Amazon.com Coldplay required a lifetime to make its wonderfully assured debut, Parachutes. But it took less than two years for the moody British quartet to deliver a masterful follow-up. As a band they have advanced to a stage where they outshine nearly every one of their rivals in terms of imagination and emotional pull. A Rush of Blood to the Head is a soulful, exhilarating journey, moving from the cathartic rock of "Politik" to the hushed tones of "Green Eyes" without once breaking its mesmerizing spell. Singer Chris Martin takes his voice on soaring flights, reaching places only Jeff Buckley previously dared to go. And the music is nearly flawless, a persuasive cross between Pink Floyd and The Verve. Even if they haven't come up with another "Yellow," you would be hard-pressed to care. This is exquisite stuff. --Aidin Vaziri
The Smiths a The Verve. Et ce n'est pas rien… --Herve Comte

A true, classic August 12, 2005 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Coldplay's "A Rush of Blood to the Head" is a rare thing in today's music. It is an album that people will remember, 20, 50, 100 years from now as a classic album. 'Rush of Blood' has it all; catchy choruses, beautiful lyrics, awesome guitar, sad songs, happy love songs, a mix of folk, rock, new age and even punk. It can please just about any music fan with its ecclectic nature. Chris Martin has a soulful, gorgeous falsetto and when he rocks out and lets loose, there is nothing like it. I would recommend 'Rush of Blood' to anyone and everyone. It's sheer genius.
everybody should own this album March 30, 2005 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
its ridiculous how many people dont like coldplay, and its ridiculous how many people love them. if they would just listen to this album they would change their mind. this album is incredible and has the ability to make you happy even if youre in the worst of moods.
Excellent Disk March 15, 2005 These songs are hardly boring. They are incredible. The piano is brilliant and the vocals are enchanting once again. Thank you Coldplay! Think of Politik and Clocks. Wow. There are only two bands that come close to Coldplay for the vocals: Pilate, Flannelmouth and well, Radiohead. I am a big fan of "God put a Smile on Your Face" and "Green Eyes". They are very optimistic, a real pick-me-up. I write about a lot of bands yet I can never find anything bad to say about Coldplay and this album is another fine example of the band's accomplishments. Bring us more great music Coldplay! Buy this cd too...
Far superior to Parachutes! February 6, 2005 When I first heard Coldplay's first album, Parachutes, not long after it came out, I thought it was pretty good, but not great. But when the band released this follow-up, I was blown away! The music sounds better, and the melodies probably sound better, too! This is one of the best albums I've ever heard!
A MASTER PIECE! December 22, 2004 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
