In this game you take control of a planet in order to help its tiny inhabitants, called LocoRoco's, defeat the evil Moja that have invaded. You do so by tilting and bouncing the environment to guide the LocoRoco's in the direction you wish them to go, a task you accomplish using only the left and right shoulder buttons on the PSP. The simplicity of the controls, small number of enemies to be found, and mainly linear environment, makes for gameplay that is both relaxing and child-friendly. Older players should not be discouraged however, as this light-hearted game has enough charm and optional item hunting to provide an enjoyable experience for players of a variety of interests and age groups.
As you progress through the game you will meet new LocoRoco's along the way (one in each world) which each have unique appearances, and will sing their own types of songs for you. You may also be dismayed to find that there is not a great deal of variety when it comes to the types of levels each world has in store. This only seems to be a problem when attempting to play through the game in just a handful of sittings though, as each level of the same type still manages to be unique despite its familiarity.
In conclusion, I would recommend this game for anyone looking for a quick cool-down between more intense sessions of gaming, a brief pick-me-up to start the day or simply to add variety to their collection.
