Enjoyed the first of this series, so I was confident in purchasing this sequel. February 19, 2008

Just sat through about my first 3 hours in co-op mode (2 player mode). We had great fun trying to master the art of surgery and get high grades. I own the previous one Trauma Center- Second Opinion. I enjoyed the manga style art and how they set it up as a soap opera style (hmm..bordering anime style as well).
Graphics are good in this game. The only drawback is you cannot fly past the rambling adding to the soap. Which cost it a star in this rating, same problem in the previous game. My wrist hurt more just trying to press A to get past the rambling of game characters.
This game really gets you into using your Wiimote and nunchuk simultaneously in single or co-op mode.
Gameplay for me is 5 out of 5. Being a fan of the series I enjoyed the additional story line. This time you are in a remote area in Alaska. No worries they seem to be able to get hold of an arsenal of hospital equipment. :)))
I play this on a LCD tv, and it looks great to me, graphic wise. Quite detailed and realistic, in a cartoon body. :P
As for kids getting into this game..I would advise parents rent this and play it first. This way you know what you wish for them to see. Its not bloodshed; like shooting games, but there is blood, broken bones, etc.
Warning: No English game manual, included. Just French. There are in game tutorials that easily guide you through. Along with giving you plenty of time practice. Once you start a tutorial, you cannot skip any steps etc.
IF you need a manual just turn the game holder over and check for the company web address. Once there just wait for the page to load and 'download manual' will appear there.
I really didn't need it.
***I currently play games on the Wii, PS2, Nintendo DS, Guild Wars online, and dabble in Diable II- online.

Great Follow Up to Trauma Centre: Second Opinion December 23, 2007

When I first bought my Wii last year, one of the first games that I got was Trauma Centre: Second Opinion (the predecessor to New Blood). When I found out a sequel was out, and now two players can operation simultaneously, I got the game right away, and it definitely did not disappoint.
As with the previous Trauma Centre game, you play the role of a surgeon who operates on patients with various ailments. The challenges can be split into two main categories: "normal" medical conditions such as broken bones and tumors, and "biological weapons", which are viruses with attack capabilities.
You use the nunchuck to select your medical equipment (forceps, scalpel, antibiotic gel etc), and you use the wiimote to apply/use these equipment. The controls are quite intuitive once you get the hang of it. For example, to use the forceps, you would squeeze the A + B button to produce a "squeeze" motion, and pulling left or right then dislodges objects. Applying antibiotic gel is simply pointing at the wound and pressing A. While the controls may seem complicated at first, the first couple of levels are tutorials. Once you play a couple of times, you can perform the procedures very quickly.
Compared to the first game, you get to perform more procedures on the "normal" medical conditions, and I personally don't find the biological weapons viruses to be as hard to defeat. Regardless, what makes the game stellar this time is the two player co-op mode. Being able to operate with someone else simultaneously adds to the excitement, and you might find yourselves fighting over who should treat the wound!
However, I also think that the two player co-op mode is a drawback. At times, it feels like the game is designed for two people, so it is almost impossible to complete certain levels with just one person (to be fair, it may also be because I haven't mastered the healing touch yet)
Replay value comes from trying to get a higher rank on the same surgery. I haven't tried any sort of online capabilities related to this game yet.
Overall, I would say that this game is pretty much the same as Trauma Centre: Second Opinion, except now you have 2 player co-op mode. If you're buying this as a 1 player game and have Second Opinion already, I wouldn't recommend that, as it doesn't have much improvement/new tricks compared to the first one. But the two player option is worth the $50.
If you don't have any Trauma Centre games for the Wii yet, definitely give New Blood a try. It's a fun game that fully utilizes the innovative controls of the Wii.

Me and my friend started playing two weeks ago and we can't stop ever since. He tought because this was a medical game that he'd be discusted by the blood or something, but instead is as intrested as me! The story is very great for this kind of game, and the most attractive new gameplay option is the two player option! You can play with an "assistant surgeon" as i like to call by buddy XD
I must say this is a must buy for fans of the serie and for any kind of gamer (I suggest a rental first, maybe this isn't your style of game after all). I suggest that if you're very nerveous, you should stay far from this game, as being a surgeon makes you nervous... alot!
