Great printer at a great price October 29, 2008 I bought tis printer to replace a broken Canon ip6700d. For the price it is very good. The photo quality seems to be less than the ip6700d but so far has been very acceptable. The next higher quality Canon printer is so much more expensive that I chose this one. I stayed away from the multi-function printers because photo quality was my main concern.

Canon Pixma iP4500 Printer October 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Good price from Amazon, but printer was broken upon arrival. Thankfully, Amazon has an excellent return policy, better than the manufacturer who wanted to charge me for repair--on a brand new printer! Amazon rocks. Canon ...
p.s. Ended up buying an HP Photosmart D7260. Great printer.
Canon Pixma iP4500 is excellent printer October 24, 2008 I purchased this printer to replace an old Canon i850 color inkjet printer. The old printer worked great for a few years, then stopped working properly even though I used only Canon ink cartridges. So far the iP4500 seems to print text and photos very well - actually better than the old printer. I am hoping it lasts longer than the i850.
The ink cartridges are easy to change. The ink for the iP4500 does not seem to smear after drying the way the ink used in the i850 did. The two paper trays are very useful to me. I use the bottom tray for letter paper and the top feed for photo paper. I have the software set to allow switching between the two trays when necessary - very easy to use and much nicer than the old printer. Also, the iP4500 will do duplex (front and back) printing automatically - does not require re-feeding the back side of the page.
One Happy Granddaughter October 24, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Printer purchased for my 10 year old grandaughter after she inherited my eMac - the other members of her family have PCs. After she unsuccessfully tried to print a school assignment on one of her family's printers where she had used 'Appleworks' and unfortunately (for her and her teacher) had to complete the assignment in cursive, and because I, in California, couldn't help her, in Arizona, I decided to purchase her her very own printer. I chose an HP for her since both her family and I all have trouble-free HP printers. This one is no exception. On my latest trip to AZ, she and I setup her printer. I had her read and follow the instructions - which she did with ease. After two weeks of operation, it appears to be working well, she is happy, her parents and siblings are happy, her teachers are happy and I sure am. Would highly recommend this printer. It is user friendly and has features, such as the ability to do two-sided printing, that can be found on more expensive models.
