This product Durabrand DVD-1002 One Region Progressive Scan DVD Player was ordered for my mother who already has this particular DVD, loves it and wanted another one. However, when this one was received it did not work. It would not read the disc. I have returned it to Worldwide Distributors but have not received a replacement or a credit to my credit card.
Did Not Work October 10, 2008 The unit I purchased would stop playing about half-way through every DVD. I tried 4 different DVDs and could not watch the end of any of them - I kept returning them to the video store, thinking they were defective, then finally tested them in another player, and the DVDs were fine. It's also unfortunate because it's cost me $13 to ship the item back. I will stay away from Durabrand in the future. I purchased this because of the favorable reviews on Amazon.

i like this product so far. i'm having a little problem with learning it's functions but i have to admit i haven't read the instruction manual. i also like the small compact top-loading design. seems to give a good picture as well.

This is unbelievable! You buy a portable DVD player so you can carry it with you, right? With this one you also have to carry the amplifier and speakers beause THERE IS NO EARPHONE JACK!
This abomination should not be on the market!

This DVD player is noisy. It has a constant whine(?)/hum(?) while your DVD is playing so you have to keep the TV volume up to drowned it out.
