Very nice phone with a few drawbacksAugust 18, 2008 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
We purchased these phones a few days ago to replace our Unidens which died after 2 years of moderate to light use. We read a lot of reviews online about these as well as some Panisonic models, one of the things I loved about these phones over the top rated Panisonic models is that the on & off buttons are nice & large compared to the pea sized ones on the Panasonic. Ultimately we wound up going with this model because it was rated #1 by Consumer Reports. The range on these phones is a huge improvement over our old phones and the difference in clarity is night and day. These phones have better reception than any other models we've owned. The ringer volume can go up very high which is nice if you have background noise, the radio, etc. The menus are exteremly simple and easy to navigate and I love the blue display.
There are 2 things I am unhappy with- 1. You can only check messages from the answering machine base instead of being able to listen to the answering machine from any cordless handset. 2. There isn't a clock display on the phone, even when you hit talk or end it still only shows you a counter for how long you've been on the phone. I wish I could just pick up the phone and see what time it was because I'm often in a situation where I have the phone nearby but not a clock.
Easy Setup great RangeAugust 12, 2008 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Easy setup... Impressive range. I have a big old house. I had to walk well into the next block before I lost the signal.
Nice looking light phone
Top notch phoneJuly 30, 2008 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Nice product, easy to set up, good range that covers the whole house, plus deck, garage, most of both yards, and the driveway. Excellent sound, clear and accurate pitch without ringing or echo. Stylish handsets that are light. Intercom feature is a plus. Minor quibble #1: it would be nice if the handsets had a battery meter; if there is one, I haven't found it. Keep them in the cradles, I suppose. Minor quibble #2: about those cradles... the phones do not fit firmly in them, but rather "set" in them, and they fall out easily when jostled.
Still, an excellent product. It gets 5 stars on performance, knocked down one for the little things.
Nice, but could be improvedJuly 19, 2008 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Phones look great and the set up is extremely easy. I was disappointed in the selection of ring tones. Also, I am a bit disappointed in the volumn. Even turned all the way up, I think it could be louder. The clearness isn't what it's chaulked up to be. The manual says you can retrieve messages from headset and it leaves an envelope on the handset to show messages left, but I can't get that to work. Sent AT&T an email asking about this and am awaiting reply. Overall, I like the phones, but have had better.
Excellent Value!July 16, 2008 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
These phones replaced 4 year old Panasonic phones. I am very pleased with the performance of these phones and the answering system works well. Much simpler than the "top rated" Panasonic that I did have. The price is unbelievable for what you get. You will not be disappointed.
