I dont know what makes a cable great and that's why i didnt give this 5 stars. I dont have any problems with the cables coming loose, and since the sub i have cost me only $99 and sounds great i have to assume these cables are very good. I wouldnt waste time on more expensive cables unless you have a massive system.

Nothing to fancy about the subwoofer cable. It works better than the composite cables I was using. And it came as expected when expected.

Cable was as advertised. I was able to save a bunch of money by buying it from Amazon rather then one of the big box stores.
are those bass notes I hear?March 28, 2005 This is a good cable; it is thick, so it's well insulated and well shielded. The gold plated connecters are good to have, because gold will not tarnish, so the connecters will always provide good contact. I don't move my subwoofer a lot, so I can't say as to the plugs keeping their grip. But, as far as sound quality; it does not seem to much better than a cheaper cable -- it's not in any way worse, either.
