I was a little skeptical of whether I wanted to trust an expensive GPS unit secured only to this mount and sitting on the dash during the sometimes abrupt starts and stops when going through heavy traffic but I decided to try it anyways. It really works and holds the unit steady, It also makes it very easy to quickly move the unit from one vehicle to another. I love it!!!

This Just Works. It is a simple idea implemented well. Highly recommended, especially for those of you who want to use your GPS in more than one vehicle.

Instant install. Never slips and very stable. The downside is that it is heavy and bulky. Instead of a tell-tale suction cup ring on your windshield, you now must figure out where to store this rather large, heavy item out of sight.
Works surprisingly wellSeptember 24, 2007 I had my doubts about this mount, especially since the dash on my Camry isn't level or flat, but it works surprisingly well with my Nuvi 350. The bottom of the mount has a lot of friction and has no trouble staying in one place even during sharp turns. The mount weighs a few pounds so it doesn't slide or tip. Easier to reposition than the suction mount that came with my Nuvi.
Only negative aspects I've found are that it's a little ugly and that it doesn't fold up as much as I'd like for stowing it away. Also, as others have noted, for the Nuvi at least, you'll need to combine this mount with the socket part of the original Nuvi mount to have a complete mount.
What a deal!September 24, 2007 This is a fantstic price for this item...better than $10 less than other stores. Works great too!
