For those waiting for a touch 2G case... September 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This one works just fine. I couldn't wait any longer for a case made specifically for the 2nd generation iPod touch, so I gave this one a shot based on other reviews.
A very well made product, the DLO folio holds the touch 2G well enough once it is completely seated. However, to insert headphones or the connector cord, you have to put a finger on top to hold touch in place. Still, it passes my acid test: turning the case upside down and shaking: the touch didn't move at all. So I can easily overlook having to use a finger when inserting headphones.
The leather is soft to the touch but feels strong enough to resist normal wear and tear. Holding it up to my nose, there's a faint whiff of gasoline smell, but nothing like the objections made in other reviews. The stitching is even and no loose ends. The belt clip is very sturdy and not likely to tear the leather or come off anytime soon.
There's only one place it's apparent the case was designed for the 1st generation: no cutout for the volume controls. A piece of leather sits right over the volume buttons. No biggie, I still can adjust the volume through the leather with a firm push of my thumb or fingernail.
The inside of the flap has a slot for a cleaning cloth, a nice touch for the touch (sorry).
So five stars for its sturdy construction, fit and finish. Even though it's designed for the 1st gen, it is exactly what I was looking for.
Not for 2G September 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As indicated in the description this product is ONLY for 1G I Touch. While 2G fits fine in the case, you cannot adjust the new external volume controls while in the case. The case is well made though and unless you have the need to use the external adjustment alot, I would still recommend this case as it is a very good product.
Fine Leather Case September 21, 2008 This does what is supposed to do. It's hard to get excited about. It looks nice, has a belt clip, easy access holes etc. Great Price.
Case Works with the 2nd Generation (2g) iPod Touch except -- September 17, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I didn't want to wait for the 2g version of this case for my iPod touch version 2g. So, I purchased the 1g version.
Although the iPod touch 2g is 0.02 inches thicker than the 1g, size wise the case fits the 2g flawlessly.
Prior to purchasing the case, based on the pictures, I concluded that the 2g volume control buttons would be covered. This is indeed the case (not a pun). However, I plan to use the touch screen for volume control, so this is not an issue for me.
The case does not seem to effect speaker volume or wifi connectivity.
So, fives stars for a very nice case.
Awesome Case for the iPod touch. September 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
FYI : the 1G in the title indicates 1st Generation iPod Touch - not a 1gig. A second generation iPod Touch was released in Sept 2008.
I use this case on my iPod Touch and love it. It fits snuggly but not roughly. The front "flap" protects the screen wonderfully and allows easy access to all your controls. The openings at the bottom line up perfectly with all access points. You can charge your Touch without having to remove it from the case ( directly with the connector cable, I do not use a cradle ). The headphone jack is easily accessed as well.
The padding, though not overdone or bulky, has protected my prized Touch during a fall that I was sure had doomed it to uselessness. Not so - it was unscathed, thanks to this great case.
I can highly recommend this item, it's a perfect accessory.
My only exception to this being the most perfect case would be - to this and ALL iPod Touch cases, is that there is no where to store your headphones. I leave mine plugged in and wrap the cord around the case, securing the flap shut. Works for me.
