Believe it or not, I bought this ipod charger to allow me to charge my pod from the mains. I purchased before reading the bad reviews and after receiving the charger I was a bit reluctant to try it in case it fried itself or my pod or me. Luckily, my girlfriends pod needed charging and after I said that it charged mine okay she tried it on hers.
I am glad to report that it charges both pods perfectly and is now permanently in her posession. I am sad to hear of other peoples misfortune with some of these chargers but I can only recommend this item, and with the blue light it looks like a police mouse!

Perfect, does exactly what it says on the tin. It's well built, stylish, light, comes with a blue LED and costs peanuts, what more could you wish for?! I can't understand the low ratings this product has got from previous reviewers.

i ordered this for my ipod classic because for some reason apple think you don't need a mains charger and i refuse to pay their ridiculous price the ipod cost enough. arrived saying it was for an ipod nano but it looks like the above picture so i took a risk, it did charge my classic and switches off so the ipod doesn't get overcharged. i am pretty sure the seller put the wrong name in because the box calls it a universal charger.

I plugged this in, attached my ipod and within 30 minutes there was a popping sound and then a burning smell. I unplugged it and luckily it hadn't damaged the ipod but needless to say the charger doesn't work anymore. I plugged it in the following morning but it seems to have burned itself out. I know it's cheap, but actually a product that doesn't work is expensive, no matter what it costs.

It's a pretty poor piece of equipment - poorly built. It does not charge ipods whilst in their docks. Tried it on both a nano and 80G classic. Charges them both seperately though.
