Polaroid Pogo Photo Printer - is it worth it? October 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Fantastic little printer. Any printer that that doesn't need ink cartridges is a good start for me. I bought this last week for just under 90. I got it within 4 days on the free postage. Once it arrived it was really easy to charge, set up and use. The initial battery charging only took two hours. I hooked up my phone to it using the bluetooth function in no time at all, and then I was able to start printing a few test photos straight away. I took it out with me at the weekend and it was great. It was small enough to carry in my pocket without causing an inconvenience. I took some photos with my phone during the night out and was able to print off whichever one I chose to immediately. All my friends were impressed and even more so with the quality of the prints. Considering the number of people looking at the print it was also a good thing the prints don't smudge either.
Overall I'm really happy with my purchase and would recommend this to anyone. An excellent purchase which I'm sure I soon won't be able to do without, and a bargain for the price.
What fun! October 6, 2008 I love it! My friend had one of these printers and took it to the pub to show us all - I was dubious but printed out a few photos from my Samsung mobile - it is just a 3mp camera but the photos came out well. We took some pics in the pub, but being dark, the photos also came out dark - but thats hardly the printer's fault. I did read the reviews before ordering one for myself - but I dont understand why some people have given it such low scores. it is obviously not meant to replace desk printers - it is meant to be for fun isnt it? Which is why it is small, so we can take it to the pub and out and about!
Anyway, I honestly recommend it! I am going to probably get one for my nephew's Christmas present, he keeps trying to take mine!
Portable Bluetooth printer October 1, 2008 Polaroid PoGo Digital Photo Printer, Using Zero Ink (Zink) Technology
Up until now I've never found a practical use for Bluetooth on my phone other than passing a couple of contacts across to people.
Save for the expected wait for the Pogo to charge, I got my Sony Ericsson hooked up to it on Bluetooth instantly and started printing; have to say I was really expecting a couple of attempts fiddling round with settings on my phone but it went through straight away. The printing process itself is really quick and slick. It's certainly small enough to fit in a pocket, but has enough weight to make it feel like it's got a good bit of quality about it.
Print quality is as good if not a little better than I expected from a printer that's only slightly larger than my wallet.
I'm not going to take it out with me every time I leave the house; but its size means it's going to get chucked in the bag whenever I'm off on holiday or off to see the family.
Thank you Polaroid! October 1, 2008 I've only had my PoGo for a few days, but I'm loving it already!
So far, I've printed out loads of fun pics taken at parties with friends. Photos that would have otherwise stayed buried on my camera memory stick are now seeing the light of day and brightening up my desk at work.
I had no trouble linking up to my Canon camera and I was pleasantly surprised at the great quality of the photos when they were printed. The photos also came out dry to the touch, so I didn't have to worry about smearing.
Thank you Polaroid! I'm very impressed with my new toy and can't wait to try it out with my camera-phone in the pub tomorrow night!
cool printer! October 1, 2008 I saw this printer on the Gadget show a while back and then saw it again in Stuff so decided to get it. I had tried it in store but was cheaper on Amazon! I have to say I am not disappointed - it is really great fun! I do tend to take photos on my mobile and before this printer came along, they stayed there unless I was feeling adventurous and sent them to my laptop. Now I have printed them out - some covering my fridge (so cool that they are sticky back!) and some in my bag. The only thing I would have to agree with from the negative reviews and which is why I didn't give it the full 5 stars, is the instructions! They are terrible! I ended up going on to the Polaroid website, hoping it could help me - which it did but it was an unnecessary hassle. Surely it can't be that difficult to write clear instructions? And i noticed another review mentioned charging from a laptop - I agree - that would be a nice to have. But other than that, I love it! Glad Polaroid is back! I have 2 daughters who now think their mum is pretty cool!
