Very poor .... August 31, 2008 Running OX 10.5 and just wasted hours and had to revert to an old BT Voyager just don;t get it with Macs just rubbish!!!.
Simple to use, but not robust enough August 24, 2008 I have had my DG834G for a couple of years. It is easy to set up and use, but recently I decided to extend my network by using the wired ethernet ports too. This worked well at first, but the hardware started to fail as the strain from the additional cables damaged the ethernet connections. This is sold as a wired router - it should be robust enough to connect to multiple ethernet cables.
Superb modem for beginners with PCs April 18, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
After a day of struggling with a cheap modem, I bought the Netgear. I unpacked it, plugged it in, entered my username and password....and it connected immediately. What more can you say?
Actually, what you can say is that the autosetup wizard only works for Windows, and Mac and Unix users will have to hunt through the PDF manual to find the IP address you need to enter your details (the html help screens are utterly useless). But if you have a PC then this modem is the mutt's nuts.
best modem ever April 5, 2008 i have lost of LAN party so i chose a router that had atleast 4 outputs. i had this beast up and running in about 5mins and that was about 8 months ago i have about to laptops, a PC and an xbox 360 running on it and it still dosent lagg this is a very good bit of kit.

Easy to install- aye, right. March 14, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
OK, it works nicely once it's up and running. However, to get to that point it took me about 3 hours and 5 calls to India.
Apparently, there are "known problems" with v4 but as you can see above, you don't get a choice of version when buying.
Why oh why do hardware manufacturers insist on their crappy installation software stopping you setting it up properly via the operating system?
