Superb TV/Monitor September 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recently purchased a PS3 but unfortunately couldn't afford an HDTV to accompany it,so I decided to have a look at some alternatives and found this.On first glance at the product description and reviews I was tempted, the fact that my PC monitor was woefully out-dated from a gaming perspective made my decision much easier. This is,in my humble opinion,an absolutely superb product, especially when you consider the price.I have my PC hooked up through the DVI port,my PS3 through the HDMI port, and a pair of speakers through an av cable.Games on my PC look superb and pin-sharp at 1680x1050.Games on the PS3 are similarly impressive as this TV/Monitor supports 1080p(although because the max res of the monitor is 1680x1050 its not the full 1080p)Still it looks good. From an asthetic standpoint I really like the sleak, dark design,it looks really nice together with a PS3/PC and some speakers. The only minor niggle, and it is a very minor niggle,is the stand that comes with the monitor.Unlike the monitor itself,it feels a little cheap and flimsy, and is a pain to attach,it took me a full ten minutes to get it on properly. That aside it really is hard to find a reason not to recommend this product.
SM2032MW August 18, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I use this as a computer monitor, and for that it would get five stars.
However, during the recent warm weather I was surprised to see that three thunderflies were able to crawl in behind the screen! One crawled out again but two died, creating small but irremovable black marks on the display that were every bit as distracting as dead pixels.
Samsung just didn't care - the response of their customer service department was 'Tough - go and find someone who can fix it and pick up the bill yourself'. So zero starts for their customer support and therefore only three overall.
Luckily, I bought the display from Amazon who replaced it without question for a brand new uncontaminated one!
How easy can you get August 12, 2008 Fantastic TV, the monitor took a while to put on the stand put i didn't want to push it hard as it looks so good after it was plugged in i couldn't beleive the graphics i got. I connected my PS3 and Computer to it not using the supplied VGA cable. The supplied audio cable means i no longer require a set of speakers however has other reviews have pointed out there is deffinatly a whinning from the speakers this only becomes heard if you have full volume on but no sound coming out otherwise it is unnoticable. A great product if anybody has a bad thing to say about it then they are looking for negatives and ingoring the huge amount of positives
DOA HDMI failed to work July 17, 2008 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
I went through the exact same procedure as i did with my 19 inch SM, same technique same HDMI output device and i even tried it with 2 cables. This unit failed to work with HDMI, I can only conclude that part of the unit is dodgy.
I used to like Samsung but now it appears it's just cheap Slovakian cr^^ made by the lowest bidder.
Please please don't make the mistake i did, look elsewhere.
Very good for the money April 19, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
After many hours of decision making i decided on this neat little tv from Samsung. I would not go as far as saying that this tv is excellent but it is very good and provides good quality throughout. The only thing i would comment on is the build quality which is a bit in the light side. I have a Sony Bravia W2000 series and the difference is quite obvious. But then again the Bravia is a lot more expensive. The courier Citylink were not up to much and i would go as far to say that they were a bunch of twats who would not compromise at all when it came to a rough delivery time. They even told me that they would hold it in the depot for me to collect myself. On my way there ( 1hrs drive) my gf called to say that they had delivered it a second time to my neighbour who luckily was in to sign for it. Citylink you are incompetent and if Amazon use you for any of my future purchases i will not be buying !!!
